The Gaelic development agency Bòrd na Gàidhlig today (Wednesday, February 4, 2009) launched a major new information and networking site, mygaelic.com, which aims to be the place to visit for everyone who wants to learn more about Gaelic – Gaelic language and culture, tourism, events relating to Gaelic and, how and where they can engage with the language.

Brian Ó hEadhra is originally from Dublin in Ireland. He is an accomplished traditional singer in Gaelic and English and an acclaimed song-writer. He has toured the world over with his band Anam playing festivals, concerts, TV & radio. He has also carved out a name for himself as the Gaelic Youth Development Officer for the Highland Region, and as the musical director of the Blas Festival.

Berneray Community Hall is the place to be on the evening of the 6th March 2009, for what promises to be an excellent event to launch Donald MacKillop’s book, Coille an Fhàsaich. The book has already had successful launches in both Inverness and Glasgow, and the Comunn Eachdraigh Bheàrnaraigh feel it is important for the book to have a Berneray launch as well.

MG ALBA, the Gaelic Media Service today (Monday 9 February) praised emerging creative talent in Scotland, following FilmG, their Gaelic online digital shorts competition, which was aimed at unearthing creative talent for BBC ALBA.
