MUSLIM scholars are planning to find new Scots recruits to their faith – by translating the Koran into Gaelic.
The academics hope the new £50,000 project will show Muslims’ commitment to Scottish culture and will promote understanding between faiths.
The project has been set up by the British-based Muslim publishing organisation, the Muslim Academic Trust and is being funded by donations from businesses.
The move has received a poor response from ministers in the Gaelic heartland of the Western Isles.
