Welcome to Ceòlas! A place full of music, song and dance in the Gaelic Community of South Uist. Ceolas strives to direct the impressive team of tutors, pulling them together and combining their services for one special week a year! Please feel free to contact us for further information.
This year fares have been slashed by nearly 40% because of the RET (Road Equivalent Tariff) for this year so there is no better time to visit the Hebrides as it is also the year of homecoming!
Ceòlas is a music and dance summer school featuring expert tuition in piping, fiddle, singing, Scotch reels and Quadrilles, step-dance and the Gaelic language. It is set within the Gaelic-speaking community of South Uist. Ceòlas explores the vital connections between Scottish traditional music, Gaelic song and dance while allowing ample opportunity for participants to enjoy all these disciplines in cèilidhs and in homes – places where they were first fostered. The school has strong links with Cape Breton, and has ‘brought home’ the Cape Breton style of fiddling and step-dance.
