Adult Workshops

FilmG will be holding a set of filmmaking workshops for adults at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye on the 11th and 12th of October.

The workshops will cover scripting and directing (with top Edinburgh based scriptwriter and director Annie Griffin), production (with Amanda Millen, former programme executive in BBC Scotland’s Drama department), Camera & Sound and Editing (tutors to be confirmed).

The workshops which will run over two days will give those attending a good grounding the basics of filmmaking, a better understanding of working in the industry as well as picking up top writing and directing tips from Annie Griffin. The workshops and accommodation are free, but students will have to pay for their lunch & dinner and their own travel expenses. Places for these workshops are limited, you must therefore apply by downloading and filling out the application form below and send it to us before the 26 September 2008.

Camp FilmG CANCELLED!

Campa FilmG – Youth Workshop

Campa FilmG is a four day filmmaking workshop for kids aged 12 to 17 years. It will be held from Monday 13th to the 16th October on the Isle of Skye, although, kids who are boarding will be expected to travel to Skye on the Sunday evening ready to start classes on the Monday morning.

The workshop will be held at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig College on the Isle of Skye (see map). MG ALBA will cover the cost of the workshops, accommodation and food, but students must make their own way there. We can arrange pick-ups in Broadford on the Sunday afternoon.

Accommodation will be provided at the Flora MacDonald Hostel located approximately 1.5 miles from the college. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at the college. Kids will work together in teams during the week to develop a short film idea then script it, film it and edit it. The film will then be premiered on the big screen at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Thurdsay morning before the kids leave. The workshops will be lots of fun, get kids to work together in teams and give them a greater understanding of how the film and television industry works.
