BRINGING GAELIC EDUCATION TO EDINBURGH CASTLE
An exciting opportunity for a creative Gaelic speaker has arisen at Edinburgh Castle.
Responding to requests from teachers of Gaelic medium education and Gaelic learners, Historic Scotland is now looking to commission a part-time free-lance Gaelic Learning Officer for its most visited site.
The education team is looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to help young people in Gaelic medium education and their teachers, as well as learners of Gaelic, make the most of a visit to Edinburgh Castle. The post will be based at Edinburgh Castle and the Gaelic Learning Officer will work closely with Historic Scotland staff to develop preparatory support materials and on-site activities to bring the past to life.

The Gaelic Learning Officer is a freelance contract post of 50 days per annum,

Marketing Co-ordinator
Theatre Hebrides intends to appoint a Marketing Co-ordinator to work on the Na Daòine project on flexible part time basis over four months between 15 Feb and 27 May 2010.
The Marketing Co-ordinator will work as part of a creative team to promote the production and tour of the Gaelic theatre project Na Daòine in Scotland in May/June 2010. Experience and knowledge of arts marketing, managing web based information systems and good administrative skills are essential. A journalistic flair and an interest in performing arts would be beneficial.

Visual Artist - Taigh Chearsabhagh
Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre on North Uist is seeking a visual artist to form an integral part of a creative team, which will deliver an innovative arts education project in the Uists. The project is funded through the Glow Co-Create Project, a partnership between Learning Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Arts Council.
Taigh Chearsabhagh, in partnership with North Uist Woodland, is planning an exciting education initiative involving S2 pupils from Lionacleit School investigating aspects of the biodiversity and heritage of Langass Woodland on North Uist. The selected artist will work with a team of staff and pupils to creatively interpret aspects of the Langass woodland that encourage understanding and appreciation of the area. The project will result in the creation of permanent artwork for the woodland created by the artist in collaboration with the pupils.

Project Administrator - Theatre Hebrides
Theatre Hebrides wishes to appoint a Project Administrator to work on the ‘Na Daòine’ project on a flexible part-time basis over five months between February and June 2010.
The administrator will work as part of a co-ordinating team to administer the production and tour of the Gaelic theatre project Na Daòine in Scotland in May/June 2010. Experience of operating Equity contracts, project monitoring and project marketing are required.
Theatre Hebrides seeks a candidate who can demonstrate skills and experience related to the above tasks and who is an excellent communicator.
